U13 DI SECOND place in VA AAU State tournament June 18, 2005 Ryan Butler Signs with University of Richmond Ryan Butler, former Team Richmond guard from Douglas Freeman HS stayed close to home by signing with University of Richmond. Ryan's father who is a coach at Freeman led the Spiders in scoring and rebounding during 1975-1977 seasons. June 6, 2005 Greg Redford Signs with Eastern Kentucky University
Former Team Richmond forward Greg Redford will take his skills to Eastern Kentucky University. Redford (6-6) averaged 15.5 points and 12.6 rebounds per game last season at Hermitage H.S. and finished his three-year career as one of the top scorers and rebounders in school history. The Panthers were 66-14 in his three years as a starter. Redford was first-team all-Colonial District and all-Central Region and second-team All-Metro this season. Redford considered Butler, Jacksonville and Appalachian State before making his decision. He is the first recruit of former Hermitage standout David Boyden, who will be in his first season as an assistant at Eastern Kentucky. April 25, 2005 Tyrese Rice Signs with Boston College
Tyrese Rice, former Team Richmond standout from L.C. Bird HS signed with Boston College, according to a source close to the program. Rice, who will make it official at an afternoon news conference on Monday, also took a visit to Wake Forest in the past week.
