Congratulations go out to Team Richmond Garner Road 17 Elite's 6'5"point guard, DeAndre Thomas being named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2017 Hoop Group Academic Elite Session I Camp. The Millwood School senior has 10 division I offers to include U Mass, ODU, Elon, William & Mary and JMU. Having performed at the top level, DeAndre is committed to working hard and is looking forward to the July live-period. The Hoop Group Academic Elite Camp is an event where players must have a 3.0 GPA or higher to be considered. Approximately 215 young men from across the country participated in this year's camp.  

Team Richmond Garner Road 17 Elite received other player recognition at the 2017 Hoop Group Academy Elite Session I Camp.  Recognized as Top Performers of the Day were 5'10" Timon Jones of Henrico High School, 6'7" Jack Wyatt of Collegiate School, 6'7" Robbie Beran of Collegiate School, 6'7" twins Jalen and Maliek Jefferson of Hopewell High School and 6'3" Jayden Nixon of Choate Academy. Many of these players were also named to the Top 20 All Star Game.
